A 20-strong team of painters under site manager Leon Smith completed the internal redecoration of Hackney Community College for contractor ISG to a very tight time schedule. The Shoreditch campus of this 10,000 student further education college in North London is the principal college site and we were given just one week's notice of the project to complete the redecoration including 165 classrooms, corridors and common areas. In the first weeks of the project our team had to work round various other trades while a certain amount of demolition and rebuilding work was completed in the building. It meant we had to pull out all the stops over the final three weeks to complete the redecoration on the last day of the holidays. Despite the very tight time scale we delivered a quality service, and somewhat unusually each member of our team was given a personal "thank you" and gift voucher by the contractor. This was a demanding summer holiday job.
