S. Lucas has started the main decorations package for the London 2012 Olympic Stadium on the Olympic Park in East London. The decorations programme is scheduled to take 35 weeks and includes the application of decorative and special protective finishes to walls, ceilings, floors and staircases to all front and back of house areas throughout the stadium and to the podium level that surrounds the stadium. S. Lucas will be using its innovative brush and roller washout stations for the project. The environmentally- friendly process has been developed in conjunction with ICI Dulux whereby waste paint is turned into an inert "biscuit" material that can then be disposed of safely. The contract has been awarded by Sir Robert McAlpine, part of Team Stadium, which is building the Olympic Stadium for the Olympic Delivery Authority.
