Lucas passes four million hours safe working milestone

Lucas is extremely proud to announce that we have now passed four million hours of safe working without a reportable accident or incident.

We have not needed to report a RIDDOR incident to the Health and Safety Executive for the past seven and a half years on any of our sites.

Health, safety and wellbeing is a number one priority at Lucas, and best practice is fully embedded in all our operations. It is emphasised every day by senior management and strictly monitored and practiced out on site by our safety managers.

“Safety as standard” in our daily regime is central to our Workforce Engagement Programme. We adhere to comprehensive safety training programmes and closely monitor every operative’s competencies, qualifications, safety awareness and upskilling.

Our strong commitment was recognised in March when Lucas was shortlisted by Construction News for this year’s “Health, safety and wellbeing excellence” category in its annual awards.

Danny Lucas said: “I want to thank our health and safety teams for the tireless support they give to our operatives, and I would like to thank our operatives for all their efforts to ensure our work on construction sites across London and the south east is carried out so safely.”
