Lucas on the South Bank

Lucas has won the painting package for the refurbished and extended former Grade II listed IBM Building at South Bank in central London next to the National Theatre.

The 1980s “brutalist” commercial building at 76 Southbank was designed by Sir Denys Lasdun for IBM who have now moved out. The building is being completely refurbished and extended by Stanhope to provide 420,000 sq ft of flexible modern office space along with some retail use, securing the long term future of the building.

A Lucas painting team will decorate throughout the seven storey building along with the two storey basement. We will decorate all the core areas, stairs and throughout the offices and apply sealers and specialist coatings in the basement and back of house areas.

The main contractor is Multiplex Construction Europe Ltd. and Lucas will start its 12 month programme later this year.
