S. Lucas wins Specialists Award for the second time

S. Lucas Group is extremely proud to have won the Finishing and Fit Out category of the Specialists Awards 12 organised by Construction News, one of the most important awards schemes for specialists in the UK building and construction industry.

This is the second time we have won this important award. We were winners in our first year of entry in 2010 and were shortlisted again last year. It is particularly gratifying because these awards are judged by senior, experienced figures in our industry.

The award was presented to Chairman and Managing Director, Danny Lucas, at a gala dinner held at the Hilton Hotel in London’s Park Lane. The awards dinner was hosted by comedian Simon Evans for 600 leaders in specialist contracting.

Rebecca Evans, Editor of Construction News, highlighted the importance of the industry: "Without specialist contractors like you, the industry wouldn't survive. You are the foundations on which it stands, and without which it couldn't exist."

We were judged on our industry performance, training programmes, health and safety record and for our corporate planning and ambitions for the future. The judges also looked at some of our recent projects including the decorations we carried out for the new McLaren Production Centre at Woking producing the company’s new sports car and the works we undertook at Westfield Stratford City during construction and the run-up to its opening.

Danny Lucas said: “We’re thrilled to have won this award for the second time. It reflects well on the whole company and acknowledges our dedication to quality, reliability, safety and to our environmental considerations.”
