Smart safety cards provide instant access to our operatives’ qualification and training records
A new Lucas initiative to introduce individual smart safety cards for all of our fully-trained operatives is going down very well with clients on site.
The cards are issued to all our operatives who complete the company’s Safety as Standard initiative, part of our comprehensive Workforce Engagement Programme. We have designed them to incorporate QR codes that provide instant access via smartphones to our operatives’ qualification certificates and training records, allowing clients to carry out both detailed safety audits and random on-site checks instantly. The process is efficient, paperless and completely transparent.
Lucas developed the technology behind the initiative and some clients have been so impressed they’ve even asked us if they can adopt the measure.
Our operatives also carry a handy guide to all Lucas health and safety procedures and guidelines called “Safety in your Pocket” ensuring they enjoy a safe working environment.
