Can there be any view in London that beats overlooking Tower Bridge and the Tower of London? For residents of One Tower Bridge, this is exactly what they can look forward to and Lucas are helping to ensure the internal view is equally stunning.

This is yet another prestigious project in the nation’s capital with which Lucas has been involved, with previous work no doubt being a factor in the company winning this contract.

Lucas was called upon to work on the car park. It is not often that a car park can be described as being ‘warm and welcoming’, but the work carried out by Lucas has certainly brought a bright and ‘airy’ feel to this otherwise functional part of the building.

Work included the application of Travertine stone cladding to the internal walls. This limestone is created from deposits in mineral springs particularly hot springs and the cream coloured option was selected from this project.

Other work carried out included the fitting of back-painted glass to walls, the application of an insulated render, glazed and timber door sets, and the fitting of a marble floor.

This extensive project also included the fitting of a bespoke Burgess ceiling, while the stairs feature glass handrails and screens. Fire stopping work has also been carried out, as well as a significant amount of screeding.

Ultra modern technology has been used in the car park, with car ‘stackers’ being employed to get the best use from the available space, and ensuring plenty of cars can be parked efficiently and tidily. These stackers have been painted by Lucas using Weber products, with concrete surfaces covered in Dulux Weathershield. The floor benefits from the two-pack resin Resdev system, while all the lines on the floor are created using Trafficline.

Commenting on the project, managing director of Lucas Danny Lucas states: “We have been associated with many prestigious projects throughout London, and One Tower Bridge is another of those where only the best will do. That is something Lucas always strives to provide, and our ability to repeatedly win contracts such as this endorses our belief that the effort we put into our work is noticed and rewarded.”
